World Championship
The idea of World Championships was discussed in the first RIF meeting in 1988. At that time, there were only 3 renju countries Japan, Sweden, USSR. It was decided that the First Renju World Championship should be held in Kyoto a year later - in 1989.Everybody was waiting for this big event excitedly. It was the first time the peope from western countries could have a chance to see the legendary Shigeru Nakamura playing the tournament games. That was the beginning of the history of Renju World Championships... World Championships | Event | Location | Results | Articles | Games | Photos | Videos |
